Lilliana Barillas-Arias, MD

Description

Dr. Barillas-Arias specializes in pediatric rheumatology at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She sees patients at the hospital’s main campus in St. Petersburg, Florida, and the Outpatient Care Center in Lakewood Ranch. She joined the hospital staff in 2023.  She was previously associate professor of pediatrics and chief of the Department of Pediatric Rheumatology at Bernard and Millie Duker Children’s Hospital/Albany Medical College in New York.  Dr. Barillas-Arias earned her medical degree from the Universidad de Costa Rica. She completed her pediatric residency at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Weill Cornell College of Medicine in New York.  She also performs joint injections in the special procedures unit at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Dr. Barillas is a bilingual qualified staff speaker in Spanish.
