People often ask me why do you practice personal injury law. Don’t a lot of people define you as an “ambulance chaser”? It certainly is true that many people look down upon personal injury attorneys as simply opportunists who want to take advantage of a person in a bad situation. However, ask any of my past and present clients what they think, and I believe they will all tell you that without my representation or my firm’s representation, they would not have had a chance. People do not realize that the law of personal injury and wrongful death is extremely complicated and full of legal pitfalls and technicalities. There is nothing straightforward about any personal injury case. Each case is different based upon the facts and circumstances. many factors come into play when representing injured clients, and a full knowledge of all the possible ramifications that could occur in any one case is absolutely important. I must say that it is an extremely rewarding experience once a case has been pursued to completion and the client is grateful for the result. I certainly cannot guarantee that all of our results are 100% satisfactory to the client. We sometimes lose, but we are more often successful in obtaining a favorable result for our client. A successful outcome is also very rewarding when one realizes that you are up against high powered and well funded insurance carriers and corporations that can outspend you 10 to 1. Therefore, one needs the knowledge of the law, as well as an aggressive attitude in order to overcome such obstacles. I have practiced personal injury law for over 30 years. During that time I have learned a great deal about the law, how to succeed and how to obtain a successful outcome for an injured client. The philosophy of our law firm is clear, in that we have built a firm dedicated to personalized and family-oriented principles, in which the client will always be represented by an attorney that they can talk to, meet with, and feel comfortable with. The key to any successful attorney/client relationship is trust. We feel we have earned the trust of thousands of our clients whom we have represented over the years. If you are looking for a conglomerate firm with hundreds of lawyers, you probably will not want to consult with Legler, Murphy & Battaglia, LLP. However, if you are interested in speaking with an attorney one on one, as well as a community oriented organization that has been around the Manatee/Sarasota area for over 20 years, then you may want to speak with one of our attorneys. Please feel free to contact me for a free and no obligation consultation and case review.

  • Alyson Battaglia

I have always had a passion for the law, even as a young girl, I dreamed of one day becoming a lawyer. While in law school, I was not sure what kind of law practice I wanted to pursue. Upon graduating and passing the bar examination in 2008, I was offered a position at the Firm as an associate attorney. This position involved representing individuals who were injured in all types of accidents. While I was in law school, I worked clerkships in various areas of law including Wills & Trusts, Probate, Family Law, Criminal Law, Construction Law, Health Law, and general litigation. While I enjoyed those experiences, I can honestly say that none of those practice areas appealed to me as much as my experience representing injured victims. I have spent my entire legal career representing injured individuals and I would not have it any other way. There is something incredibly challenging and satisfying to me about representing an individual and getting them what they are entitled to, oftentimes outnumbered by a team of high-paid lawyers who are working for the insurance industry. The level of service a client can expect from myself and my firm simply cannot be compared to the level of service you would receive at a big law firm where your case is just a number. I personally sit down with each and every one of my clients to review their cases with them and learn all of the pertinent details. I speak with my clients frequently and I KNOW their cases. This gives me a huge advantage over my competition. I can assure you that my philosophy in the practice of law is shared by my partners as well as my staff. The law firm of Legler, Murphy & Battaglia, LLP, has been representing the rights of the injured in Manatee and Sarasota Counties for over 30 years and the lawyers of this office have over 100 years of collective legal experience. We have earned the trust of thousands of clients who we have represented over the years. If you are looking for a personal injury or workers compensation lawyer who will offer you personalized service, accountability, and aggressive representation look no further – I can help.
